Detours CD Release
- Apr 19, 2010
Just got back from Calgary, Alberta today. We had a great CD release concert this weekend for our fourth album release, Detours. The show was sold out and we got to see a lot of friends and family, who have been so supportive of our career. We brought our new guitarist, Ariel Posen on the road with us too...and it made for a very great dynamic on stage. I especially loved playing "That's Life" with him on lap steel. Next weekend Renee and I are going to be in Los Angeles for The Musexpo conference and to co-write with a few major writers. It is hard to believe it, but we have already started working on our fifth album. As I sit here thinking about the last decade of music together, I am very greatful for the most amazing band mate ever, Renee. We have lived so much life together; traveling around the world, performing hundreds of shows, writing songs and singing together. I do not want to take for granted how special our friendship is. I am proud of our longevity. When I really think about it- fifteen years of music is longer then most band's entire lifetime. I think even The Beatles were only together for ten years. I still get the "butterflies" when we perform at The West End Cultural Center in Winnipeg...and on May 8, we will be back there for our fourth album release concert. I hope all of you in Winnipeg can take the time to come out and celebrate this night of music with us. It is a very significant milestone in our career to have the fourth album under our belts. As I reflect on Detours, the album, I am very proud at how we have grown as songwriters and definitely become more honest in our lyrics. Last week we did an hour exclusive on CBC's, The 204 radio show. Speaking about the songs on this new album and where they came from, made me realize that many of these songs were written about the various levels of relationships that have come in and out of my life. It is a very personal record for me and I am very excited to share it with the world. I look forward to hearing your feedback...
